The Story Behind Casa Verano

Hello, I’m Bailey Summer, founder of Casa Verano. I’m so glad you’re taking a look behind the scenes of my brand. Casa Verano was born out of my love for creativity, the sea, and the laid-back atmosphere of the Spanish coast. Ever since I was a child, I’ve loved being creative. Drawing, painting, crafting, and developing new ideas have always been a big part of my life. One day, I wanted to turn that passion into something others could enjoy as well.

During my trips to Spain, I spent hours in charming home decor stores, searching for that laid-back bohemian and Mediterranean vibe that I love so much. Although I found plenty of inspiration, I couldn’t find the home accessories I was really looking for anywhere. Through Pinterest, I discovered more and more beautiful decor, but much of it wasn’t available in the Netherlands.

Why Casa Verano?

The name Casa Verano literally means “summer house” in Spanish.

To me, that name symbolizes a place where you can truly unwind. A home where the sun seems to shine right in, where natural materials provide warmth, and where every detail tells a story.

The name also has a personal meaning. Summer is my middle name, which makes Verano, the Spanish word for summer, feel extra special to me. So Casa Verano isn’t just a brand, it’s also a part of who I am.

Inspired by the Spanish coast

Spain is an endless source of inspiration for me. The relaxed atmosphere, the friendly people, the beautiful coastlines, the charming villages, and the feeling that life there seems to move just a little slower.

I try to capture that sense of tranquility in every collection.

I draw inspiration from natural textures, soft colors, and materials such as shells, ceramics, wood, rope, and refined gold details. It’s precisely these small accents that give a home its character and make an interior feel personal.

The Beauty of Natural Materials

Oyster shells and other natural shells are an important part of Casa Verano.

What appeals to me about them is that no two shells are alike. Every shape, color, and texture is unique.

That’s what makes each product special. I also love giving natural materials a new lease on life.

Oysters are often eaten in restaurants, after which the shells are thrown away. Yet there is so much beauty in them. By incorporating them into home decor, they are given a new purpose and become part of an interior where they can be admired for years to come.

My first collection, Ostras de Verano, was born from that idea. It’s a collection inspired by the tranquility of the coast, the warmth of home, and the beauty of nature.

More Than Just Home Decor

For me, interior design isn’t just about beautiful things.

A house only truly feels like home when it’s filled with photos, memories, special gifts, and decorations that make you smile. It’s precisely those personal details that make a space unique.

That’s why I think it’s important that many products can be personalized. A name, a date, or a short message turns a home accessory into a lasting memory.

The moment of unboxing is part of that experience, too. That’s why every order is packed with great care, as if you were receiving a gift. Whether you’re ordering it for yourself or giving it to someone else, I hope that opening the package feels just as special as the product itself.
